Crew Chief 10/87 Active This one actually happened in my presence when I was a trainee on the water patrol: My partner and I stopped two Jet Skis for speeding. We got them on our boat and went through the process of identification. One of the kids (a real smart ass) said, "Before you write anything, I want you to know the sheriff is my uncle." My partner looked at him and said, "No shit?! You just saved my ass. I was going to give you a warning, but if the Sheriff thought that I as playing favorites with his relatives, he would have my badge... Here is a ticket and thank you for saving my job!" There was some stuttering and stammering, but the guy knew it was over. Then my partner turned to the other guy and asked if he was related to anyone. "Ahhhhh, no sir...no one." He got a warning.
